"Kundalini Glow" Class Theme with Nina
For the months of July/August 2009
Thursdays 7:30-9pm
Crystal Bowl Relaxation with Susan
9:30-11am, Tuesdays
Susan invites you to experience the sounds of the Crystal Singing Bowl as a tool to enhance deep relaxation in Svasana, the time of rest and stillness at the close of each class.
Crystal Singing Bowls are sound instruments made from pure quartz silica sand in a high temperature fusion process. A bowl can resonate to a certain tone or note, which corresponds to a tone of the body’s chakras (energy points) and thus can harmonize and energize the body's systems.
Listeners describe a sense of being surrounded by the sound and of feeling its vibrations within. A flowing practice of breath and postures, followed by relaxation with the Crystal Singing Bowl will leave you feeling both refreshed and restored.
For more information about Crystal Singing Bowls, visit www.sacredsound.ca.
Drop-in for a class or use your flexible class pass. See the class schedule for Susan's classes here...
What do you get when you add the sound of singing bowls to your yoga practice? An unforgettable experience of taking your yoga practice to a whole new, deep meditative level!
If weather permits, we will have this event outdoors in our beautiful space in the back! Be sure to bring your yoga mat and lawn chair for a wonderful evening under the night sky...
Enjoy a special evening as Susan guides you through a flowing sequence of yoga postures, breath and meditation while Jeremy plays the healing vibrations of a variety of Singing Bowls.
Midsummer Night Yoga
An Evening of Yoga, Singing bowls and Kirtan
with Jeremy Sills and Susan McEwen
7:30-9:30pm, Friday Aug 14th
You may have noticed a new "member" to our team at the Yoga & Tea Studio. Holding its own space in the corner of the room is a 30" Paiste symphonic gong made in Switzerland.
The sound waves created by the gong are so mesmerizing that within 90 seconds the mind has to surrender to the sound vibration of the gong. This allows for a deep healing at the subconscious level by removing fears, blocks and self-defeating habits. It also strengthens the entire nervous system and balances the flow of energy within the body.
Experience an instant meditative state and therapeutic relaxation, as Nina will be playing the gong in her Kundalini classes during meditation or relaxation.
Drop-in for a class or use your flexible class pass.
Following the asana practice, Jeremy will deepen the relaxation of Svasana with the sounds of the bowls. To close the evening, the group will be guided into Kirtan - a sacred healing song, as Jeremy leads with his guitar.
Experience how the effects of sound can enhance your yoga practice and allow for it to become very meditative and healing!
Laughter Yoga is a unique concept of unconditional laughter where anyone can laugh for no reason at all. It does not rely on jokes, humor or comedy. It initiates laughter as a form of an exercise in a group and as the session progresses, laughter becomes real and contagious laughter.
Our body cannot differentiate between acted and genuine laughter. Both produce the same ‘happy chemistry' and Laughing Yoga is a blend of yogic deep breathing, stretching, and laughter exercises that cultivate child-like playfulness.
Join Sophie for a barrel of laughs and just watch the stress melt away...
