Your Testimonials

"Nina, I want to thank you for bringing Kundalini Yoga to the area.  Kundalini Yoga has literally changed my life.  I cannot remember a time when I have not suffered from hay fever and blocked sinuses.  As soon as the snow disappeared in Spring, breathing became difficult, only to improve when the snow came back in December.  I lived on antihistamines.  As an avid outdoorsperson, staying in the house was not an option.  Several years ago I began taking yoga classes – I became a regular practitioner of Kripalu, but then began looking for a type of Yoga that was more mentally and physically challenging.  In July of 2008, I discovered the Yoga & Tea Studio, specifically, Thursday night Kundalini Yoga with you. What a difference it has made to my health!  With the (often) strenuous work-outs and unique breathing techniques, I am convinced Kundalini Yoga is the reason seasonal allergies are no longer a problem for me.  It is now November, and I think I had one week this year when I took antihistamines.  Many thanks Nina, your Kundalini Yoga class is great!"
Larisa Wheeler, Arnprior

"Yoga and Tea is a true gem in the Ottawa area, with its lovely setting and the atmosphere of acceptance that prevails in every class and with every instructor. A tourist in the practice of yoga for many years, I have taken my own practice to new levels, thanks to Nina and her wonderful staff. No more searching - I have found my yoga studio in Ottawa and that studio is Yoga and Tea!"
Michelaine Lahaie, Kanata

"When I was working downtown I enjoyed Kundalini Yoga at a location near my workplace. This type of yoga brought me great inner peace and new perspectives on how to view life and myself.  Now that I am entering my sixties and have more time --- I have been trying to find a great atmosphere and quality of Kundalini teacher in the west end . I have tried several places and finally found Yoga and Tea Studio.  The atmosphere is calm, peaceful -- a feel good place and the quality of teaching from Nina is excellent.
Thank you Nina and I look forward to many breaths with you."
Catherine Cooper,Kanata

"I am so grateful to have such a superb yoga studio here in Carp. I am 60 years old and have just now committed myself to spending time on my own health and fitness. I recommend Nina's kundalini yoga classes to young and to the getting older. The atmosphere is warm and serene. Each class is different but offers a complete but gentle work out. No judgment here, just smiles."
Susan Krongold, Carp

"I love my Wednesday Power class!  It is my time in the week to take time to recharge my batteries, and it gives my husband quality time with our infant daughter.  I also enjoy the size of the class, it really allows me to feel like the class is personal but that we all achieve things together.  I have done other power classes at other studios, but the teacher and the studio keep me coming back every week! The added bonus is that I live in Kanata and am about 10 minutes away from the studio, which makes things very convenient for me. Thank you!"
Rhonda Cummings, Kanata

"I have chronic back pain and have suffered for years with it.  This is my first time to yoga and I have felt an inner peace within myself that I forgot I had.  I feel more rejuvenated than I have in a long time!"
Bonnie Soucy, Woodlawn

"At last I can get out of bed in the morning and not feel so stiff I can hardly move!"
David Hinks, Carp

"During the yoga class I manage to detach from all thoughts related to work, past experiences and just be!  Learning to breathe is another valuable skill.  Sat Nam!"
Gabi Simion, Stittsville

"Thanks to Yoga & Tea Studio I stumbled upon Kundalini Yoga - and have been amazed by the positive transformation that has occurred in my life because of this powerful form of yoga.  I am convinced that it has helped immensely while recovering from a broken ankle and a recent second surgery for hardware removal.  Prior to the surgery - a special healing meditation (for me!) was incorporated into the Wednesday Kundalini yoga class... I had the second surgery on a Friday morning, actually did a 1/2 hour meditation/focussing on my breath prior to going into the OR which helped me feel very calm and relaxed.  I was determined and was able to get to Mary's Kundalini class the following Wednesday! I felt very strong and energized throughout the class.  I am so glad this lovely and peaceful studio and these amazing teachers have come into my life."
Chris Hume, Almonte

"Nina's yoga classes were the perfect way to get back into shape after pregnancy. The exercises were rigorous and gave me a good workout while still allowing me to recover at my own pace. The class combined theory with practice while cookies and tea at the end of the session added a personal touch. I would heartily recommend this class to all my friends."
Bojana Kolbah, Kanata

"I am 60 yrs.young, and have not yet found a yoga class that I feel did as much for me as the one Nina gives in Carp.  I have tried a few others at gyms and none of them seem to measure up. The ambiance, enthusiasm and wealth of information that Nina brought to each class was incomparable....not to mention the yogi tea & cookies after class."
Pam Meunier, Carp

"I have chronic back pain and have suffered for years with it.  This is my first time to yoga and I have felt an inner peace within myself that I forgot I had.  I feel more rejuvenated than I have in a long time!"
Bonnie Soucy, Woodlawn

"We always appreciate the warm welcome on entering the studio.  We experience genuine concern for our well-being throughout the class.  We are grateful to Louise (Murray) in particular for encouraging a mind, body, spirit connection.  We have a gift beyond measure in Carp!"
Marian and Guy Brethour, Kanata

Su, RYT, took her Power Yoga Teacher Training program (200 hour) at Mountain Goat Yoga. Her initial goal was to deepen her personal knowledge of yoga, but she soon discovered that through teaching, she could share her love of yoga with others.

Su began practicing yoga in 2000 when she was working as an engineer in the high-tech industry.  As a busy mother of two, seamstress and gardener, she finds that yoga is the key to the balanced life. When not involved with yoga, Su is most likely found covered with playground sand, garden soil, sewing thread, sawdust and/or splatter from wall paint.

Su believes that a yoga practice should be about the journey of learning; perfection is neither the requirement or the goal.
Ana, E-RYT 200,  Zumba® Instructor  On a poverty awareness trip to the Dominican Republic in 2005, Ana was inspired by the locals, all ages and sizes, who were always dancing and celebrating life. She realized how engaging in rhythmic movement, being in tune with our bodies and expressing ourselves through dance, is incredibly beneficial to overall well-being and joy. Today, Ana has over 6 years experience in Latin dances, 2 years in Flamenco dance and a background in a variety of other dance styles which she has learned and practiced throughout her life. She encourages her students to bring creativity into their practices, be inspired and to use movement as self expression as they let go and experience new ways of being.

In 2011, Ana’s love for yoga led her to India where she immersed herself in an intensive yoga teacher training program so that she could teach and share the benefits of yoga with others.  She completed her Hatha Yoga teachers training (200 hour) in Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world.

Penny, RYT

Penny blends her experience as a teacher with her enthusiasm for yoga.  After a career as a Professor or Early Childhood Education and part-time social work practice, Penny combines her skill set and interests by animating children’s yoga classes.   Penny has certification has a Hatha Yoga Teacher as well as a Radiant Child Yoga Practitioner.

Penny is available for Kid’s Yoga Birthday Parties!

Anna, RYT

Anna fell in love with yoga when a close friend dragged her (despite her protests) to her first yoga class in 2008 and she realized that after this introduction her life would never be the same.  She is a counsellor by day, supporting people through listening and speaking and she has discovered that emotional health is best served when we listen to our bodies and spirit, not only our words.  Driven by this passion, she completed her 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2014.  Anna is a strong believer that anyone can do yoga.  The practice of yoga is not about bending yourself into the perfect pretzel, but about allowing yourself to grow and to connect with yourself.
Alison, RYT

Alison  first discovered the joy of yoga while living  in Germany, when  several of the Indian parents came together to offer yoga classes at the International School in Stuttgart.  This led to a deepening interest and Hatha classes at a local studio.   Upon returning to Ottawa Alison was thrilled to discover Yoga & Tea and its gentle, compassionate, and authentic yoga offerings.   With a daughter off to university this allowed more time for a deeper appreciation and time to devote to self-healing and led to her pursuing  their Yoga Teacher Training Progam in 2015.   Alison’s personal experience with autoimmune disease brings an understanding and compassion for those with similar challenges, and a desire to share the experience of taking charge of one’s health through an integrated approach using Yogic principles as well of the  German natural health approach .  Her mantra is “listen to your body”.   Alison also has  an interest and understanding of 12 Step Programs and the great support and hope they provide and is thrilled to be sharing her love for yoga and wellness with you at her favourite yoga studio!
Cathy, RYT

Cathy completed her 200-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training at Yoga and Tea Studio.
Tanya, RYT,  an adventurer at heart, enjoys sharing yoga that inspires her to feel alive. Over the past 10 years her practice has transformed the person she gets to be everyday. Her favourite styles of yoga? Partner (for laughter, the challenge and the connection), Vinyasa/Hatha (to feel powerful & strong) and Yin (to balance & welcome a chance to be still).

Join her for a practice that offers you an opportunity to challenge yourself, feel good in your skin & leave your mat smiling & energized.

Tanya completed her RYT200 and 100 Hr Yin Certification in Ottawa, and is an Ambassador for B Yoga Now.   You can find her all over social media sharing yoga & daily inspiration.

Alexandria (Alex), RYT, Running Room Coach, Stott Pilates Barre Instructor

Alex studied at the University of McGill to obtain a Bachelors of Education. In Montreal she fell in love with running up Mount Royal. Unfortunately, she faced reoccurring injuries often prone from such a high impact sport. This led Alex to other areas of conditioning training to compliment her running: barre and yoga. Alex is confident that barre helped tone weak muscles that no other form of exercise offered her, drastically helping prevent injuries and improve her running. The love for this exercise led her to become a qualified Stott Pilates Barre Instructor in 2014.
Thanks to a more balanced exercise routine, Alex is able to enjoy competing in yearly half-marathons around Canada and the United States. Additionally, in 2015 Alex moved to Australia to compete in the Gold Coast Australia Marathon finishing in under 4hrs.  While in the land down under, Alex coached the Lululemon Melbourne Mindful Triathlon group where she led weekly run, yoga and meditation classes and also enjoyed her own practice of hot and Arial yoga.
Ready to further pursue her love for yoga, Alex traveled to Bali, Indonesia challenging herself to visit a new yoga class a day for a month. Her adventure ended on Gili Air Island where she volunteered and lived at a yoga ashram to enhance her practice for an additional month. In 2016, Alex then moved to India for two months to complete her 200Hrs Yoga Teacher Training.
Now back in her home town of West Carleton, Alex is not only excited and inspired to teach all she has learned, but to also further grow from each student she meets on the mat!
